Room 227, Saturday Afternoon
Sep. 22nd, 2012 10:26 pmThere was a snow leopard laying down on the floor next to Natalie's bed. His name was Altair, and he'd been there since this morning – though if you believed him, he'd been around for a lot longer than that.
But Natalie knew she lived on Fandom island, so she took talk like that with a pinch of salt. Still, it was as real as these things tended to be. And to be honest, his presence made Natalie a little uncomfortable. It was that need for control over what got broadcast into the outside world that having a part of your soul walking around independent of you didn't mesh with. But she'd already gotten a painful demonstration of how she couldn't get away from him, either.
So she was sitting on her bed, reading, with Moxy curled territorially in her lap.
"Pretending I'm not here doesn't actually help," Altair said. "You know that, Natalie."
Natalie kept trying to read.
