Things were moving forward.

Envy had settled down in New York. She was renting an apartment (well, it belonged to Gideon's label, but, details) and working on new music. Her blog – now hosted on her own domain, rather than that of The Clash at Demonhead, now defunct – was back up and running, with its readership higher than ever.

She was settling into a new routine. Working on music in the mornings at home, meetings and/or studio time with Gideon in the afternoons bleeding into the evening, then late nights at carefully chosen clubs and bars. Making herself known in the right circles. And just enjoying herself.

Trying on this new version of herself.

Occasionally, she came back to the email. It would've been a lie to say it hadn't meant anything to her, so she'd prefer not to ever comment on it to anyone. She just re-read it, every once in a while. But she hadn't responded.

Even now, as she sat down on the couch with her laptop and her coffee, she didn't type up a reply. It was a brand new email. Nonchalant and short.

Gideon says this is too aggressive for the album. We'll see.

She attached a file, a demo of a song, then sent the email off. Making peace did not mean she was about to get verbose.

[ooc: NFB, but open for all the usual.]
