A Hotel on the Mainland, Sunday Afternoon

Another week, another bad decision, another door to another hotel room.

And there was exactly nothing special about this hotel, or this particular room Natalie had just stepped into. Really, it could have been anywhere. It was clean and nice and all, sure, but it had exactly zero personality.

"... Wow. This place looks really generic."

"At least it's clean," Sam pointed out, kicking the door shut behind them. "Hotels really don't have to have a personality to be okay by me."

"It's clean," she agreed, turning to face him, after another glance around the room. "It's nice enough."

For their purposes.

"I'm not much for unique and exotic anyway," he stated with a shrug. "Simplicity is nice. Gets the job done."

Natalie dropped her bag on the floor and watched him for a bit.

"Gets the job done, eh?"

"Don't make that into a 'I feel like I'm signing a contract' statement," Sam said, shaking his head. "It's not what I meant."

Natalie looked ever so briefly amused. "I was being coy."

"Okay. Good," Sam said, nodding. "Because I didn't mean anything bad by that statement."

She reached out to put her hands on his shoulders.

"And I," she said, nodding back at him, "was just trying to get to flirting."

[necroslacker]

"Okay," Sam said, relaxing now. "I didn't realize simple hotels put you in a flirtatious mood."

"They don't," she said. "But I was trying it out anyway. I didn't come here to chat about the weather or anything."

"What'd you come here for?" Sam asked, curious as to what she'd say.

[whenshewasnice]

"You're baiting me into saying something interesting," Natalie replied, looking a little bit amused again. She leaned closer. "Aren't you?"

"Yeah."

Duh. Come on, Natalie.

"Course I am."

[whenshewasnice]

Oh, she was just drawing attention to that fact. Tilting her head and looking at his lips.

"I came here," she said, glancing back up into his eyes again, "for your bare skin."

[necroslacker]

"Just my bare skin?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "Sounds like I'm just gonna be eye candy or something."

[AFK for just a bit to head to the store for some more cold medicine]

"Did I say that was the only reason I had?" Natalie asked, mock chidingly. "No. I did not."

"Oh, I'm so sorry," Sam said, almost smirking. "Do continue, if you will."

[whenshewasnice]

"It's not just your skin," Natalie continued, now that he wasn't being a smartass. "It's your weight, too. Your lips. Your hands. Your... fingers." She leaned even closer, putting her lips by his ear. "The way I made you beg last time."

Sam shivered just the tiniest bit and turned his head towards her just a bit. "You liked that, did you? I'm not surprised. Made you feel powerful, I bet."

[whenshewasnice]

"I am powerful." She made it sound like she thought it was just a fact. And you know what, maybe it was. "And you liked it too."

[necroslacker]

"I did like it," he admitted with a sigh. "Yeah, you're powerful. And you do well with that power."

[whenshewasnice]

"Apparently." She did very well with it, in fact. "I'm not sure if I'm going to be exercising my power over you today," she added, her lips so close to his ear he could feel her breath. "The game's fun enough from either side."

"What, so you want me to be the powerful one?" he asked, keeping still so he could continue to feel her breath.

[whenshewasnice]

Natalie stayed still too. "You're not bad at it, either," she murmured. "Trust me, I know."

"Hmm." He breathed quietly. "You might have to ask me nicely if you want something like that."
