Room 227, ...Pretty Much All Day Monday
Natalie woke up with a raincloud above her. She was not surprised, it had already been there last night. It had mercifully waited until she got back on the island and into her room before appearing, but now it seemed to be sticking around. It just moved with her as she got out of bed. So, the impossible was happening: Natalie was going to be cutting class today. She may have stopped crying, but the cloud was very noticeable, and she didn't feel like dealing with people looking at her funny over it. She could give herself the day, even if that left her with the problem of what to do with hersef all day when she was feeling this crap.
The gut instinct was still to call Sam, see. And that was the one thing she couldn't do.
So she was going to be trying to focus on getting ahead with her independent classes, while poor confused Mr. Moxy tried batting at the rain that fell all around her and yet didn't seem to be getting anything wet.

He knocked on the door lightly, just in case she was asleep. "Natalieeeeee."

She wasn't even sure why or when she decided not to do that, but she found herself coming closer to the door. She didn't open it, but she did bring the sound of light rain with herself, yes.
That wasn't weird at all.
"What is it?"

"Why?"
She was doing a great job at pretending everything was fine and normal, wasn't she?

You know, if he could ignore the raincloud above her. And the rain. She was hoping those'd clear up soon.
"Ten points to House Shadowhunter."

"It's a rain cloud."
Do try to keep up, Jace.

Not that she thought Jace was prone to doing that latter thing, but it didn't hurt to check. And maybe she was stalling a little.

"It's over." She didn't feel like elaborating. As much as he liked to berate for having a serious relationship, he had to know there were few things that could wreck her this badly. "I'd appreciate it if you could save all I-told-you-sos and gleeful little jigs until you're no longer in my presence."

He wasn't sorry that she and Sam had broken up, obviously, but he was sorry she was so upset about it.
no subject
But nothing would, so she wasn't really blaming him.

"Do you want to talk about it?"
no subject
"Do you want to come in?"
Standing in the doorway with the cloud ghanging above her was the oppsoite of what she'd wanted to achieve by not going to class. She stepped back to make way.

She took a seat on the edge of her bed. This was the most glad she'd been that he'd rearraged her room, by the way. It would have killed her, last night, to come back to it like it had been when Sam had still been here.
"That's why it's so heartbreaking that you're pretty much all I've got now."

She pushed some dry hair away from her eyes. "As much as I appreciate anything right now."

"Talking gone wrong," she said, shrugging, resting her hands in her lap. "People only value honesty for as long as it's favourable to them."

She'd found those plenty humiliating, especially with how not at all far they'd gotten her.

Yeah, she'd dumped the few previous boyfriends she'd had. Her heart hadn't really taken hits from those.

That, she really did know. She ran a hand through her hair, still messy from sleep.
"There are no miracle cures."

She rubbed her eyes, then wrapped her arms around herself. "Thanks."

What a liar.

She wasn't good at physical affection, either.
"My face has little to do with my feelings."

But at least the rain seemed to have gotten somewhat lighter? Even if it annoyed her that talking to someone was what it took, and she knew the rain ending was not going to mean the hurt would too.
