Room 227, Saturday Morning
This morning was the best morning. Natalie (who'd skipped her senior prom because no, thank you) woke up well rested and feeling in complete control of herself. It was a great feeling.
Having gotten up, she considered finally tackling all the stuff for her independent classes, but ended up at the keyboard instead. She hadn't really been able to play any songs this entire week. It felt liberating to be able to pluck whatever notes she wanted to out of her instruments without her mind drifting to other things.
Speaking of which, maybe a little later she'd take a moment to reflect on the things she'd sone over the week, witha clear mind. Or maybe not. For now, she'd enjoy being able to do things without being massively distracted.
... As if that was going to last.

Please, this AU kid thing had already happened to her with her own kids.
So, yeah, making her way to the dorms to check whether either of her parents were around was kind of an obvious next step.
... And a winner was Nat. The prize was a knock on her door.

And then once she had, she had a hard time understanding what she was seeing.
"... What."

Then she raised an eyebrow, looking at Natalie's neck.
"Also, wow, Maman. Those are some hickeys you've got there."
no subject
Before he words actually caught up with her. "Did you just call me Maman?"

Nice one, Natalie.
no subject
Yeah.
"Long story even shorter, he fucked up. And you two got me."
no subject
Sure, Nat, that was the thing to get from that.

She knocked politely on the door, but she wouldn't be above using her stele to open it if she had to.

She looked the girl over and said, "Oh, good, there's more of you."
That was only a little bit obviously sarcastic.

She actually had a fairly solid guess.
"You do look awfully tawny-eyed."
no subject
Not according to Cassandra Clare, Rosalind!
no subject
She already knew she slapped her last name on all her kids like some kind of an egomaniac.

"Rosalind," Natalie repeated, nodding. It was a nice name, but then, she hadn't exactly doubted herself and Jace on that score. "Better than another clone daughter. Do you want to come in?"
Cassidy had gone off to get souvenirs to take back to her Fandom.

Actually, three knocks.
And a voice. "Mom?"
no subject
And once again, she didn't know who she was looking at. "I was expecting Lilith."

And her hair was very pink.
"Oh, um. No, he graduated last year. He's in Seattle."
no subject
"Bummer. But you can call him and make him get his ass back here, right?"
no subject
Look, maybe it was cowardly but Natalie did not feel like having the first contact since their latest day together be her calling to say their daughter was back.
She looked at Ada. She could sort of see the little girl in there. Kind of.
"You're a lot older, this time."
no subject
Had to point that out.
"Are you guys being stupid again?"
no subject
"Well, we're not dating each other," Natalie replied, deciding on the truth. Ada was old enough to handle the differences between different universes. "So. Guess that's your call."
