Toronto, Not Brazil Nor Space, Tuesday

This felt surreal. After the... several months Natalie had just had, taking a day or two to actually be away from Brazil and the Hegemony and Peter was just surreal. Knowing she was going to get to actually see Jim for the first time in over three months? Yeah, weird.

Since they were not very into the idea of meeting in either Ribeirao Preto or Iowa, Natalie had picked a place almost at random from the first selection of package deals Portalocity had happened to offer her. So now she was standing in the Drake Hotel lobby in Toronto, with her bag slung over her shoulder and check-in already dealt with, just waiting for Jim to arrive.

"I don't know if this room has a bathtub," she said, and tried to kiss his finger. "Seems like that should be investigated."

"Why? You feeling dirty?" Jim asked, keeping his finger near her lips. "Need to get rid of some body odor?"

"I might feel dirty," Natalie murmured. If it happened kind of against his finger, oh well. "That latter thing has nothing to do with it, however."

"You just wanna be naked with me?" he asked, tapping her lips once more before he pulled his finger back and smiled.

"Yes, I guess that's about it," Natalie admitted with a little nod. "Naked in a bath with bubbles and wine."

Sounded like vacation to her.

"Then, you better hope there's a bathroom here with a bathtub, huh?" Jim asked, smirking.

[whenshewasnice]

"You can't magic one into existence if there isn't?" Natalie teased, and tsked. "For shame, Jim."

But she was pushing herself off the bed already, to head for the bathroom door, the glass of wine still in her hand.

And Jim wasn't moving. He was just enjoying the bed and watching her move around a hotel room like he'd done so often in the past.

"I haven't gained any magical abilities just yet, babe," Jim told her, shrugging. "Maybe next time you disappear for three months I'll do that with my free time."

Natalie didn't mind being watched as she moved. She hadn't had anyone watching her like that in a long time. She resisted the urge to add extra sway to her hips, though.

She opened the door to the bathroom, and peered in – and, maybe her lean had an element of giving him a nice view. Maybe. Then she straightened up and gave him a little smirk over her shoulder.

"There's a bathtub."

"Is it big enough for two?" Jim asked, rolling onto his side and propping his head up with a hand. "Or is it one of those tubs that's gonna make for a very tight squeeze and more discomfort then anything?"

"It's big enough for two," Natalie reported. "I mean, if you think I'm going to be anywhere but in your lap or very close to it, you're wrong, but that has nothing to do with the size of the tub."

"I just didn't want my arms and legs to be hanging off the sides," Jim said, moving to roll off the bed. "Feel free to get it going if you wanna take a bath."

"No one told you to grow up so big and tall," she told him, before disappearing into the bathroom. She put her glass down, finally, to get the water running into the bath.

And then looked through the complimentary bath stuff for something bubbly.

"Would you prefer that I was short and stocky?" he asked, getting off the bed and kicking his shoes off before padding his way into the bathroom.

"Would you still be good in bed?"

She poured something into the bath from a small bottle, and bubbles began to form.

"That would never change," Jim told her, coming over to lean in the door. "I'm always gonna be good in bed. Always."

[whenshewasnice]

"Then, I don't have a preference." She put the bottle away. And hid a smile. "Except that's a lie, because I like that you're big and tall and strong enough to pick me up off the floor."

Because sometimes, for a second or two at a time, she felt girly like that.

"You're such a girl," Jim teased, taking a sip of his wine. "So girly and demure. And I'm not even surprised."

[whenshewasnice]

"No I'm not, I'm highly professional," Natalie replied as she watched the tub fill up. "Demure, though? Maybe. We haven't even kissed yet."

[pursuedthestars]

"That's because it took you about ten years to even touch me," Jim replied, tilting his head. "I figure kissing will take another fifty years or so."

Joking, he was joking.

"And you can't take the initiative?" she retorted, glancing over. "Shave off twenty five years or so from the estimate?"

[pursuedthestars]

Jim thought about it then shook his head. "Nah. I think I'll let you do that."

That probably wasn't true. He'd take the initiative.

"Prepare to wait for fifty years, then," Natalie quipped. She turned the water off once the tub looked full enough, with a pleasing amount of foamy bubbles on top. She looked over at him. "Can you get the wine?"

Well it seemed like a good idea to bring the bottle along.

"I waited three months, I can wait another several hundred months," Jim said, moving back to grab the bottle before he joined her back in the bathroom. "I'm patient."

Sometimes.

"Mm hmm."

She sounded like she was doubting him, but in a teasing way.

She also reached down for the hem of her shirt to start pulling it off herself.
