Natalie's Duplex, The Hegemony Compound, Brazil, Saturday
Natalie didn't feel at all ready for anything. But, Jim was coming over because she'd asked him to. It was time. She wouldn't ever be completely ready, so this was going to have to be good enough. She remembered pretty vividly what Sam had said, about not letting something like this drag on.
But Jim wasn't there yet. So Natalie was reorganizing a closet that didn't need reorganizing, just to kill time. It beat fidgeting. Or going to her office to stare at things when she knew she wouldn't be able to focus and would just constantly think ahead and wonder how things were going to go.
Sigh.
[ooc: NFB! Primarily for the boy I just modded, but can be open for all the usual stuff prior to his arrival!]

So, he arrived a short time after she'd called him and waited at the door.

But there would be no one following him in after Natalie opened the door to her apartment.
"Hey," she said. "Come in."

So. Living room. She brushed past him into the room, and picked up a book from the couch before taking a seat on one end of it.

"You've got a very deer in the headlights look right now."

"So does that make you or the impending end of our deal the truck heading towards me?"

Because it was for her.

She was going to add something, then didn't, because the words just failed to materialize in her head. This was hard.

"I know."
It still felt like a dull ache in her chest.
