A Room at the Arms, Saturday Morning
Waking up in hotel rooms she couldn't immediately place was no uncommon occurrence for Envy.
Placing one – after a moment to let her gaze sweep the room – as being on Fandom? And not one she remembered booking? Slightly more uncommon, but not entirely unheard of. Especially on a weekend she knew she was supposed to be on Fandom, anyway. Reunion. Why wouldn't the island just yank her back when it wanted to? Really, she should have expected it.
And all in all, all that she was a little miffed about was that the island hadn't thought to plop her husband beside her. She pushed herself up with a sigh, got herself a silk robe – at least her things had made it here with her – then checked the room number so she could text it to Peter. With nothing but said number and the word Fandom.
Which was not a specification on her location, but rather the requisite, mild 'ugh, Fandom'.

He was outside now, knocking.
There was a light irritation to his knock. Because seriously, Fandom?
no subject
"Well, at least it was the same building."
no subject
He hadn't gotten any less dramatic with age. Just less italicized.

"Then Lilith will handle it," she said, as she did.

He turned and reached for her hand. "Though in all fairness, that's probably a lot nicer in this time before global warming got a hold of it."
no subject
She was joking, of course. She owed some things to Fandom, so missing a reunion wasn't an option.

"A madcap adventure across all the best Caribbean hot spots before the ocean moved their beaches a couple of miles back?" he said. "We have a weekend. It's doable."
no subject
"And no security detail," she pointed out. "No adult supervision."
no subject
And it was just nice.
"Or we could just stay here and take advantage of the hotel room my younger self paid for," he said.
no subject
"I'll consider that idea, if you concede that it might not have been you that paid for this room."
It depended on how far back they'd been flung!

"Not good enough."
no subject
He made big eyes. "Happy?"

He leaned in for a light kiss.

"I don't know," he said, "The chance of photo-ops is pretty low out here."
That wasn't what sh meant and he knew it.
no subject
Like right now.
"I meant talking to people, Mr. Wiggin, and you know it."
no subject
Nice save. You know, without the smirking.
(Though it was true.)
no subject
That was only half smug.
no subject
"You look beautiful this morning," he repeated. "This bit in particular."
And he kissed her again.
no subject
If she mussed it up, he could just deal with that.
no subject
He could afford not to look too Hegemonly, this time. He didn't need to brag.
But he wasn't going to be an idiot and linger on that while Envy was kissing him back like that, thank you very much. He pulled her closer against him, instead.
no subject
She released his other hand because she needed both arms around his neck.
no subject
"Missed you this morning," he mused.

He tilted his face into her motions, smiling.

She'd been very happy for a long time, so, yes.
no subject
He kissed his way back down to her mouth.
no subject
But, more kissing. She was down for more kissing. And running one hand down his chest. And around his side, and –– okay, this was their high school town, and their high school reunion, and there was no one around to catch her groping his ass. So.
no subject
"Now that's the teenage spirit of things," he teased, and tilted his head so he could press kisses against her neck.
no subject
Sure, she'd probably done something about things after several of those social functions, but as fond as she was of logic, she wouldn't let that get in the way of her groping and kneading.
