Room 223, Sunday Noon

Natalie's Sunday mornings and afternoons tended to be the same every week, when there wasn't any weirdness afoot. She got up earlier than most, got coffee, and then either wandered somewhere else in the dorms (generally either Sam's room or the roof), or came back to her own room where she sat down and read something.

This Sunday was no different. She sat cross-legged on her bed, a book in her lap, occasionally eating a piece of candy or two from the bag beside her. The Petey Sci-Fi soundtrack played on in the background at a moderate volume, and every once in a while she hummed along.

A day like this didn't need much more than that.

"Hey, I've given you some confessions," Sam pointed out, kissing the spot underneath her chin. "I'm not hoping for anything, really. You wanna confess something, you should."

"If I confess something non-scientific," she sighed, "will you define interesting in your own words?"

So like her to barter for it.

?"Sounds like a good deal," Sam said, pushing himself up to kiss her. His next words were said against her lips. "Okay, you confess and I'll define."

"Fine," Natalie murmured, against his lips, because a short word like that didn't call for stopping the kiss.

And she didn't pull back far even when she had more words. "I want you too. It's not science, it's chemistry. And I find you easy to be with. You're... comfortable."

[necroslacker]

"Is comfortable a good thing?" Sam asked before he defined anything. "Not gonna get bored, are you?"

:His lips did not leave hers while he said that.

"It's a good thing," Natalie murmured, catching a light kiss. "I'm not... I'm not comfortable a lot."

And not with a lot of people. She was fine with that, though. It was just how she was.

"Okay," Sam said, smiling into that kiss and nodding a bit. "Interesting is defined as me having dreams about you that involve no clothes, heavy breathing, skin, desire, lust, want, and me waking up hating that I'm alone at the time."

See, he could hold up his end of the deal.

And in highly unscientific terms, no less. Natalie had to hide a twitch of a smirk by kissing him a little less lightly for a moment. She was sure he was devastated.

"Mm." She was devastated too, obviously. "Not really something your roomie can help with."

"I just go out and skateboard," he murmured against her lips before he kissed her again. "It helps get the energy out."

And there was usually a lot of it after those dreams.

"Poor you," she teased, without her lips really leaving his because maybe it pleased her to hear this. And maybe she was choosing to be open about the fact that she was pleased. "Poor lame LaCroix with his excessive energy."

[necroslacker]

"It's not nice to call me names when I've admitted things like that," Sam said though she could probably hear a laugh in his voice and feel an exhale of breath on her lips. "I might never tell you about my dreams again."

[whenshewasnice]

"No, you will," Natalie murmured, sounding similarly amused. She gave his lower lip a lick. "I'm fairly sure. Because you know I wasn't mocking you."

"You sound pretty confident about that," he mumbled, smiling briefly before leaning back in for another kiss. "I know you're naturally confident but what makes you confident I won't just withhold?"

[whenshewasnice]

"You can feel that I liked hearing that." And Natalie was dealing with his supernatural skills by learning to exploit them in positive circumstances. "And that should probably please you."

Sam couldn't help but snicker at her use of his abilities to prove herself right. She was since he'd loved feeling her pleasure at his words but still. She was a tricky one.

"You trying to tell me I haven't been racking up tons of points for you?" He hoped he was, at least. Hey, he did have an ego.

[whenshewasnice]

"You're twisting my words," Natalie accused, quietly. "You have points."

Tons, in fact.

[necroslacker]

"I'm not twisting anything," Sam retorted, nipping her lower lip before cattching her lips for another kiss. "What kinds of points do I have?"

If she could exploit his powers, he could do the same.

Natalie considered telling him they were point-like points but decided to be a little easier, just this once. She was comfortable, right now. That didn't happen often.

"Well, you get points for being entertaining," she told him, near his lips. "And you get points for your smile. And... dinner plans. And you got points for a good first time."

[necroslacker]

"A good first time," Sam repeated, trying to ignore the lightest of blushes that appeared on his cheeks. "It was okay?"

Well, they'd kind of just lazed around silently after so it was good to hear that she'd liked it just like he had.

If Natalie had been much of a blusher, she would've had one too. As it was, he had to make due with some light coyness and a lopsided smile.

"Better than okay," she told him. "It was good."

Great, even.

"Okay," Sam exhaled, smiling at her for both being truthful about it and for being open with him so he knew. "It was good for me too. Like, it was really good. Thanks for waiting with me till it felt right."

[whenshewasnice]

"No problem." It hadn't been, even if his refusal (though smart) had made her embarrassed the first time. That was in the past now.

She gave him another light kiss. "It was great. Worth it. Worth a repeat."

[necroslacker]

"You wanna repeat it?" Sam murmured, smiling at her again. She could probably feel it against her lips. "When?"

Oh, sue him, he was eager when it came to her.

[whenshewasnice]

"When?" Natalie repeated, and this time she was mocking him. A little. But with great affection. "I'm sorry, I don't have a schedule planned out."

[necroslacker]

"Why not?" Sam asked, deciding he deserved to be mocked for that one. "Is sex really supposed to be spontaneous?"

He frowned dramatically at her but his eyes were still amused.
