Room 227, Late Friday Afternoon

Natalie was pretty fed up with today's weirdness already. And she was a shut-in, as a result – well, mostly. Her door was cracked, because Moxy had decided this was a day for wanting to wander back and forth between the room and the hallway. But Natalie herself was staying put on her bed now, trying to focus on reading and not think about any weirdness or annoyance.

Although of course, even being alone hadn't entirely stopped the singing from happening. And her distracted thoughts wandered, and before she knew it, her lips were moving again.

"Olly olly oxen free, all the people you will never be..."

Sigh.

"I meant in general, jerk," she retorted, rolling her eyes. And then her hips, against his.

Jim laughed and pushed his hips against hers because that felt good. That felt really, really good.

"Insistent on calling me names, aren't you?"

"If you're insistent on being a jerk."

She rolled her hips again. And again. Because it did feel good and good things out to be repeated.

"Well, what else could I be?" Jim asked, shrugging. "I've gotta be what I am, Natalie. And you've gotta be who you are. Want me to change?"

"Only when I get frustrated with you." She scratched her nails sharply down his chest while pushing down with her hips. "Only sometimes."

"I'm not changing who I am," he told her, shrugging a shoulder. "So, you'll have to get frustrated with me. Sorry."

"I didn't say I wanted you to change."

She doubted they would have been in the current situation if he'd been different. This hips to hips situation.

"You kind of did," Jim pointed out. "You wanted me to change when you get frustrated with me. That's wanting me to change."

"Fleetingly, in situations where it's natural to wish for miracle fixes to perceived problems," Natalie retorted. "It doesn't really count."

[pursuedthestars]

"It totally does," Jim chanted because he was a jerk and he thought he was right. "But that's okay, I don't are that you want that because it won't happen and we're both fine with that."

"Jim, I'm topless," Natalie pointed out, raising an eyebrow at him. "Is this really the time to start arguing philosophical questions with me?"

"Not arguing. Just pointing out the flaw in your statement," he said, giving her breasts a quick smile. "That's all."

[whenshewasnice]

"A flaw you imagined into existence," she retorted. With a little bit of smugness at that smile. "And it was definitely arguing."

"And you want me to stop arguing because you know I'm right," he said, looking back up at her. "And you can't figure out another way to make me not right."

Natalie shook her head as she leaned forward. "I don't really care about your delusions about being right," she informed him, planting a hand next to his shoulder. "I don't want you to change."

"So."

He took a moment to just watch her face, smile a little.

"Tell me what you want, what you really, really want."

Jim shook his head after that came out.

Natalie snickered because she knew that one. But she didn't get to point that out.

"Do me baby, like you never done before. Give it to me till I just can't take no more."

Well, at least that made her smirk down at him. No head shaking from her.

Jim laughed and raised an eyebrow at her because he'd thought he'd already done that to her a few times before.

"Been there, done that," he said and looked smug.

"Critiquing my songs now, are we?" Natalie quipped down at his smug face. "That's not very sexy."

"I wasn't criticizing anything," Jim said, shaking his head. "I was merely saying that I've done that before because I'm awesome."

Natalie snorted. "You're not shy, you get around," she sang, ducking down, catching his lips for kisses between the words. "You wanna fly, don't want your feet on the ground. You stay up, you won't come down. You wanna live, you wanna move to the sound."

"Pretty much," he said, mumbling the words against her lips because she was kissing him and all. "You seem to have a lot of songs in your head about me. Lots of stuff about me in your head."

Shrug. It was pretty vague, all things considered. Hard to shrug properly with the leaning and the kissing.

"Have I been on your mind? What's a voice without a song?"

"There's so much darkness in the world but I see beauty left in you girl."

His singing voice was not good in the first place but when he was kissing her at the same time, it just sounded like mumbled words.

It was good enough for Natalie. She didn't have any new words of her own for the time being. She devoted her focus to kissing him. Getting a little more intense.

Hey, it had been a compliment. He deserved something nice for that.
