Room 223, Sunday Noon
Natalie's Sunday mornings and afternoons tended to be the same every week, when there wasn't any weirdness afoot. She got up earlier than most, got coffee, and then either wandered somewhere else in the dorms (generally either Sam's room or the roof), or came back to her own room where she sat down and read something.
This Sunday was no different. She sat cross-legged on her bed, a book in her lap, occasionally eating a piece of candy or two from the bag beside her. The Petey Sci-Fi soundtrack played on in the background at a moderate volume, and every once in a while she hummed along.
A day like this didn't need much more than that.

Or she was lazy. He guessed it was the first one.

He smiled just a bit. "It's probable. I'm dumb but not that dumb. You'd be gone if you didn't like it."

This wasn't one of those, though. And he could probably tell. Since she was actually going to do that rare thing of taking initiative. She rolled onto her side and tried to push him back into the mattress to climb on top of him.
He wouldn't be able to refuse her kisses as easily then.

"Yeah, but I know you like this because you like me," Sam murmured. "Don't you?"

It really wasn't.

"My pretty large crush on you shouldn't be news," Sam murmured, sliding his fingers down one of her arms.

Challenging but not boring. "I thought you were slumming. Dating someone you're too good for."

He thought so, at least. "I'm not complaining about this, though."

She breathed in, and sighed. "Because I'm taking my chance."

He brought her face closer to his and kissed her lightly. "I can be scientific too."
no subject
Just felt like doing that. "Natural talent or my influence?"
no subject
"I don't do science so it's you," he admitted . "You're the one I want."
She hadn't asked but he said so anyway.

"Not very scientific," she commented after a moment of that. It was not complaining. In fact, she'd liked hearing that more than a little.

He didn't know if she'd say something similar but he could try and be encouraging to see if it would help.

So like her to barter for it.
