Despite some major bumps along the way, this Spring Break week had righted itself eventually, even if it hadn't been without a lot of painful past things discussed. Natalie supposed that was something you did when you wanted your relationship to be about more than just hanging out.

Not that that made it any easier.

But waking up seemed to be easy today, at least in the sense that coming into consciousness wasn't immediately followed by being metaphorically hit in the face with the mistakes of days past. With a sigh, she covered the arm around her with her own, and slid her fingers between Sam's. This morning was already better than the previous one had been.

"Wouldn't accidentally go a week without seeing each other because we were too busy," Natalie replied. For a given value of 'busy'. "Or have to plan too far ahead."

"See?" Sam kissed the back of her shoulder this time. "You do miss me. I knew you missed me when I wasn't around. I knew it."

[whenshewasnice]

"I did miss you," Natalie replied, because she knew when not to argue pointlessly about things they both knew were true. Plus, she'd liked that kiss. "A significant amount."

[necroslacker]

"I like the idea of rooming together," he told her, words muffled by her shoulder. He kissed that spot again. "If you think you'll be able to deal with me, we should definitely consider it."

[whenshewasnice]

"Mm." That was one of those idle sounds again. "Then we'll consider it. But no rush."

It was a tiny little bit of commitment, after all. No good rushing.

"No rush," Sam agreed before he actually started shifting a bit more. He moved her around slightly, trying to get her body underneath his. He wanted his weight to be pressing her down gently into the mattress and he wanted to see her face now.

He moved to pin her wrists lightly on either side of her head. She could easily overpower him but he was in a good mood and feeling a little playful. "Last morning in Brazil. What should we do?"

Natalie snickered and let him do what he wanted to. She could take some playfulness right about now.

"Go see whatever culturally significant sights we've missed?"

Yeah, she doubted that'd be it. And she'd done some pretty extensive tours on the days they'd spent apart, anyway.

"That might require getting out of bed," he pointed out, pretty sure he didn't want that right now. The bed was so comfortable and she was there which made it even better.

"Pick something else to do," he decided, dipping his head down to kiss her collarbone and shoulder.

She sighed, enjoying that. "Something else? Hmm." The choices were varied and infinite, truly. "Read?"

Well, that one didn't require getting out of bed!

"No reading unless you're gonna read to me," Sam said, giving her collarbone a little lick this time. "If you're gonna read to me, I might consider that okay."

[whenshewasnice]

"Mmhmm. And what would you like me to read to you? The morning paper?" She sighed again, smiling a bit at the ceiling. "You're pretty bossy this morning, Samhain."

[necroslacker]

"I'm sure you've got a book or two with you that I'd be interested in," he murmured, pressing a line of kisses against her neck and jaw. "Besides, I bet you'd actually like reading to me."

[whenshewasnice]

"Oh?" she asked, tilting her head backwards a bit. More skin exposed, as if there wasn't enough already. "Why do you think that?"

He was probably not wrong.

[necroslacker]

"You love reading and you like me," he explained, moving to kiss her chin and the underside of her throat. "If you can combine two things like that, why wouldn't you?"

"Guess that makes sense," she murmured, even if it wasn't something she'd ever considered before. "Guess that could be fun. But I doubt that would be your first choice."

[necroslacker]

"Would it be yours?" he asked, pushing himself up to look down at her now. "We can do things you wanna do, you know. I don't mind."

[whenshewasnice]

"Eh, maybe later," Natalie replied, and she would've shrugged if the circumstances had allowed for it. There was a little smile on her on lips. "We're not in a hurry to leave, are we?"

[necroslacker]

Sam leaned down and kissed that smile, letting himself linger there. "We're not in a hurry, nope. There's still time to...well, we still have to decide what to do with that time."

[whenshewasnice]

"So, something where we don't have to leave the bed," Natalie murmured, pretending to give that some serious thought. "Hmm. I'm drawing a blank."

No, she wasn't.

[necroslacker]

"Are you?" He didn't think she was drawing a blank either. He kissed her again anyway. "I doubt that. You're the woman with big ideas this morning."

[whenshewasnice]

"Maybe I used up all my big ideas already," she suggested, reaching up to better respond to his kisses. "It was a major one, after all."

[necroslacker]

"I'm a slacker," he mumbled against her lips. "You shouldn't expect me to have big ideas at all. It's major enough that I'm awake and active right now."

[whenshewasnice]

"You're also a teenaged guy," she murmured, amused. "And all over me. I think some ideas should come pretty naturally. I know from experience they have before."

[necroslacker]

"Past experience?" Sam asked, feigning confusion. "And just what past experience are you referring to?"

[whenshewasnice]

Natalie rolled her eyes at him. "You know what I'm talking about," she said. "Skin to skin like in your dreams."

Yeah, she was going to make it known that she remembered him admitting that.
